Overview

This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and will be a member of the team that is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Working closely with the Harbor Wholesale Finance and Accounting teams, as well as other departments within the organization, the Financial Analyst helps the Company make sound financial decisions through research and accurate analysis of financial data. 

***This position is onsite at Lacey, WA. This position does not offer relocation. ***

 

Compensation: $80K - 90K DOE

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budgets and forecasts.
  • Assists with period end review and reconciliation of specific GL Accounts, including preparation of journal entries.
  • Performs financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
  • Works closely with the Director of Finance and the business to complete timely and accurate budgets.
  • Analyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports and tools.
  • Increases productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
  • Creates financial modelsfor decision support.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Gains and updates job knowledge to remain informed on trends in the industry.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and driven to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and team members to foster a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Skill in being flexible and able to handle changing priorities over multiple priorities, tasks, and situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic understanding of distribution and warehousing industries.
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions while demonstrating good judgement

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in business finance or other relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SQL reporting a plus.
  • Large company $500MM+ min volume experience preferred.
