Overview

Operations Support Specialist:

 

Hourly: Full-Time

 

Pay: $21.00 -$26.00/hr.

 

Hours/Shifts; Sun – Thursday 8 AM – 5PM or Mon – Friday 8 AM-5PM

General Summary: This position is responsible for tracking and reporting operational productivity, payroll, key performance indicators, and outbound load planning. It provides a foundation that links Customer Service, Transportation, and the Warehouse and is a central point for the dissemination of information company wide.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Gather data from multiple sources and enter on spread sheets.
  • Process outbound loads using a load planning program (Trailer Builder).
  • Calculate and report on productivity and performance incentives for multiple departments.
  • Manage and maintain users for the various software platforms used by the warehouse and transportation.
  • Bill of Ladings, Specials routing, Air freight bookings.
  • Ordering and tracking of driver uniforms
  • Process, research, and record/report on errors.
  • Communicate with multiple departments and employees in a professional manner.
  • Backhaul management and communication with vendors and drivers.
  • Track and update various retention bonuses for warehouse employees.
  • Coordinate between transportation and payroll drivers per diems for overnight routes.
  • Other tasks as needed for vacation coverage.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
  • Prompt email responsiveness and communication.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to this position.
  • General knowledge of warehouse and/or transportation industry.
  • Has the ability to be agile and reprioritize tasks as needed or directed.
  • Must have professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in time management- the ability to follow through with daily tasks and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, as there is exposure to sensitive information.
  • Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • 1-2 years’ experience within the distribution industry preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience with clerical and administrative procedures such as filing and data entry
